§1What the guideline says
| Topic | Guideline |
|---|---|
| Scope | All pallets used for purchase orders shipped to any Kroger Distribution Center |
| Specification | Industry standard GMA pallet (40x48) |
| Recommended, first choice | Pooled pallet providers, including CHEP, PECO and iGPS |
| Recommended, second choice | White wood, with no pallet exchange |
§2What it means for your program
Kroger's preference runs the opposite way to Walmart WFS: pooled pallets are its first choice. A supplier shipping to both may run a pool for Kroger lanes and white wood for WFS.
If you ship white wood to Kroger, the guideline says "no pallet exchange", so price those pallets as one-way. The guideline doesn't define a grade, height or weight; your Kroger buyer or the DC's receiving rules may, so ask.
§3Before you rely on it
The guideline is addressed to Corporate Brands suppliers; other Kroger supplier programs may have their own documents. Confirm with your Corporate Brands sourcing manager or buyer, as the guideline itself suggests.
