A typical 48×40 block pallet has nine blocks with stringer boards running in both directions, giving true 4-way entry for forklifts and pallet jacks. Pooled pallets in North America are commonly block designs.
Block pallets cost and weigh more than stringer pallets of the same footprint, and suit closed loops and automated handling.
